Janelle Brown Diagnosed With Degenerative Disease
Sister Wives star Janelle Brown has not had it easy over the last several years. She had to deal with her former husband, Kody Brown, wanting to throw their sons out during the pandemic. Then, she realized that without the family building on Coyote Pass, she had nothing to leave to her children. Ultimately, she also came to the conclusion that it was over between her and Kody, so she moved on. Janelle relocated to North Carolina, where her daughter, Maddie Brown Brush, lives, and they bought a farm. At the same time, the family lost their son, Garrison Brown, to suicide, and it has been a heartbreaking journey.
Now, the former polygamist and second wife is sharing a horrible diagnosis. She has already battled skin cancer, which she had above her lip. Janelle learned that she had basal cell carcinoma in 2021, but has since been fine. Unfortunately, she now has a new problem to contend with. Janelle detailed how her knee popped, so she headed to the doctor. It was there that the reality star learned she had osteoarthritis, joking she is now “that old.” This is a huge blow to Janelle as she is a big traveler and loves to explore.
Now, for those unfamiliar with osteoarthritis, it is not a death sentence for the Sister Wives star. Rather, it is a “common degenerative joint disease that causes pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints, particularly in the hands, hips, back, and knees.” To help ease the discomfort, Janelle Brown can utilize various therapies and a cane for more assistance. Yet, it does not appear she has gone the cane route just yet.
How Is She Dealing?
Janelle Brown will be heading out on a cruise in September 2025, and she wants to be in fighting shape for the experience. Therefore, the Sister Wives star has been undergoing gel injections and keeps her knee wrapped. Although not pleasant, Janelle knows that it will be well worth it in the long run, so she can keep enjoying her travels. She recently shared snaps from her latest adventure in Canada, thanks to her business. Fans were bummed that she did not set up a meet and greet while she was there. However, she was with friends and likely just wanted to keep on going.
