She’s Back! Angela Deem’s Explosive Return to 90 Day Fiancé: What Fresh Hell Awaits?!
90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem is giving fans relationship advice following her split from Michael Ilesanmi.
Angela, 59, was asked about her love life during an appearance on The Maury Show in a clip posted via Instagram on Thursday, January 16. “Oh s–t,” she said before turning away from the camera and laughing.
“Not good but you know, that’s OK,” she replied. Host Maury Povich questioned about the reason, asking whether men simply didn’t “get” her or failed to “understand” her.
“I think I intimidate them,” the 90 Day Fiancé alum explained. When Maury, 86, asked her what the “most important” thing in a romantic relationship is, she jokingly replied, “The most important thing I want to tell my queens is … run.”
Angela is known for documenting her relationship with Michael, who is 22 years her junior, over the years on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. The show followed Angela as she traveled to Nigeria to meet Michael for the first time after initially meeting him online. Over the years, fans have seen Angela make multiple trips to Nigeria — including for their 2020 wedding — before Micheal’s visa to the U.S. was finally approved two years later.
Michael moved to the United States in December 2023 and it wasn’t long before their marriage fell apart. By February 2024, Angela reported her husband missing from her Georgia home, learning hours later that Michael said he was “in fear of his life” and didn’t want her to know where he was.
In Touch confirmed Angela filed for annulment from Michael on June 20, 2024. She stated in her paperwork that the Nigeria native “fraudulently induced” her into marriage “for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.”
In addition, she accused the Nigeria native of “engaging in a conspiracy with other Nigerian men to induce U.S. citizens into marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status.” She listed Michael’s last known address as her home in Hazlehurst, Georgia. Angela claimed he “no longer lived there” as of February 1, 2024, and mentioned that she didn’t know where he could “be found.”
In response, Michael started a GoFundMe fundraiser in August 2024 in hopes of raising funds for his legal fees. After surpassing his $25,000 goal, he responded to Angela’s annulment filing on August 21, 2024, and denied her claims of fraud. Michael accused his ex of “cruel treatment” and “physical and mental abuse” during their marriage. He also said that the treatment was one of the reasons for their divorce.
Michael claimed that the abuse occurred both in private and during the filming of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. He also requested a fair division of their assets, as well as both temporary and permanent spousal support. A judge has yet to rule.
Michael spoke about the “contentious divorce” from his ex in September 2024, claiming she was “trying to discredit” him in the “court of public opinion” and slammed rumors he was communicating with women.
“I am currently involved in litigation with my estranged wife, Angela Deem, in the family court of Jeff Davis County, Georgia,” a rep told In Touch on behalf of Michael in a statement on September 23, 2024. “These proceedings involve both annulment proceedings and my own filings for dismissal and a counter-claim for divorce. At present, there are no active court dates as both parties are in the early stages of pre-trial discovery.”
The case is ongoing. In Touch exclusively reported that the case was moving along quickly after Michael informed the court on December 2, 2024, he had turned over documents and information that Angela requested as part of the case. Angela had served interrogatories, which was a list of questions or demands, that she wanted Michael to provide information on or produce related documents for.
