“No Relationship Left: Zach Roloff Admits His Bond with Dad Matt Roloff Is ‘Non‑Existent’”

Roloff Family Drama Continues: Zach Reveals Ongoing Strain with Father Matt
One year after their reality show “Little People, Big World” concluded, Zach Roloff has revealed that the deep-seated family drama, particularly with his father Matt Roloff, is far from over. This bitter conflict, which played out in the final seasons of the series, continues to strain their relationship.
The friction began in 2021 when Matt decided to sell, then rent, a significant portion of the family’s 108-acre farm. Matt claimed he put the property on the market because his eldest sons, Zach and Jeremy, weren’t interested in buying, despite him offering a “half off family discount.” However, Zach disputes this, stating his father “clearly said you don’t want us to be part of it.” Zach places the majority of the blame for the fractured legacy on his father’s shoulders, asserting that Matt failed to create a lasting family heritage.
During a recent appearance on his “Raising Heights” podcast with wife Tori, Zach openly discussed the ongoing issues, admitting there’s “no like relationship there” with his dad. While Matt attends family events like baseball games and Christmas, the deep connection is absent. Zach also revealed that they actively avoid visiting the farm, hoping it would sell, as it evokes “a lot of resentment and old feelings” for him and his children.

Zach’s move to Washington State in 2022 was a direct result of this family feud, as he felt it was necessary to separate from an unhealthy situation. He emphasized that as parents, their decisions are now solely based on what’s best for their family. While he acknowledged past actions that led to this point, he stopped short of blaming the reality show for the fractured relationships, stating “reality television… not for the faint of heart.”
Despite the severe strain with his father, Zach confirmed that his relationship with his mother, Amy Roloff, remains strong. He praised her as always being supportive and “the best grandma ever.” He also indicated that relationships among the siblings—Zach, Molly, Jacob, and twin brother Jeremy—are “melting” and are currently in “one of the better spaces.” Matt, for his part, maintains that he loves all his children equally and strives to be “straight with each kid,” and that they are “just working through it the best we can.”
