Amy Duggar Claims Duggar “Family Unit is Just Freaking Crazy” for Supporting Cousin Josh’s Efforts to Get His Prison Sentence Vacated

“…as if purposely having 19 children wasn’t ‘freaking crazy’ enough.”

Amy Duggar King fired off a rant at her cousin Josh Duggar this week in response to a federal judge recently scheduling a hearing on Josh’s motion to vacate his prison conviction.

As 19 Kids & Counting fans know, Josh is currently serving more than 12 years in prison for receiving and possessing child sex abuse materials (CSAM). Despite multiple failed attempts made by Josh to be granted a new trial or to have his guilty conviction overturned, the judge overseeing his case recently scheduled a court date to hear Josh’s newest motion to vacate his conviction.

Amy had some very strong thoughts on Josh’s latest attempt to get himself sprung from the Big House, criticizing her jailbird cousin, as well as members of the Duggar family who continue to stand behind Josh and try to help him be released.

“I sure hope I can still fit into my trusty courtroom Dockers. This jailhouse mystery meat sure packs on the pounds!”

Earlier this week, Amy– who has remained very outspoken against her cousin and his crimes– took to TikTok to give fans the latest “update in Duggarville,” while confirming that she’s still a staunch supporter of Josh remaining in prison throughout the duration of his full sentence. (As of press time, Josh is scheduled to be released on December 23, 2032.)

“My cousin filed a motion earlier this year that said he would like to have a lawyer to talk about his imprisonment and said, quote, that he feels like his trial violated his constitutional rights AND that his trial was unfair because it brought up a lot of his past,” Amy stated. “OK, so he clearly does not understand that he is going to be in [prison] for a VERY long time and it would’ve been longer if I would’ve been the judge.

“If you’re gonna look at such disgusting content and get enjoyment out of that, you deserve to be locked up and never released, if you ask me,” she continued.

“Well, if you ask US, a stern talking to and some extra praying would’ve sufficed.”

Amy went on to address Josh’s claim that his “constitutional rights were violated,” arguing that the 37-year-old father of seven is serving time in prison because he violated the rights of the victims that were featured in the CSAM that Josh viewed online.

“ … he’s in prison for violating the rights and the privacy and the protection and the innocence of children,” Amy said. “That is why you’re in prison, HELLO?! Why is it so difficult to understand?”

While some of Josh’s siblings have expressed similar sentiments as Amy in recent years in response Josh’s actions, other Duggar family members– namely Josh’s wife Anna and his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar– have continued to support the felon. According to Amy, these people are not to be trusted.

“Well, to be fair, Amy, we’re not so fond of you either!”

“ … I also don’t trust anyone who is trying to be on his side and to get him out early [and] who’s trying to ‘vacate’ him,” she said. “Are you kidding me? Do you see why I have boundaries in this family? This family unit is just freaking crazy in my opinion.”

During her TikTok rant, Amy also spoke about certain people with “status and power” often believing that they are “above the law,” before noting the small victory that occurred in June when Josh asked the judge for a lawyer to be appointed to him, only for his motion to ultimately be denied. (Instead, Josh will represent himself at the hearing next year.)

“ … for once, maybe in his entire life, he has to own up and realize the mess and the evilness that he has participated in,” Amy said of Josh. “Your sin will definitely find you out and you deserve to be locked up for the things that you looked at and that you got enjoyment from and that you did in hiding.

“To sum things up: rot in hell, Josh.”

You violated people [and] hearts, you created trauma, you created brokenness, you created so much hurt in lives, so I feel no pity for you,” she added.

According to KNWA News, the hearing for Josh’s motion to vacate his conviction has been set for March 4. The hearing will take place in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
