Joseph Duggar Gets Life Advice From the Last Person You’d Expect

Reality star Joseph Duggar is in serious legal trouble after being arrested for allegedly molesting a young girl. He received advice and support from an unexpected family member. Keep reading for all the details on his jailhouse communications.
Joseph Duggar Reunites With Wife After Arrest
Former TLC star Joseph Duggar was arrested in March after a 14-year-old girl came forward with abuse claims. He allegedly molested her during a vacation in Florida in 2020 when she was nine. The arrest came five years after his older brother, Josh Duggar, was arrested for child pornography charges.

After spending several days in jail in Arkansas, Joseph Duggar was transported to Florida to face the molestation charges. He pleaded not guilty, paid $60K bail, and was released. He’s due back in court in Florida in May.
The 19 Kids & Counting star reunited with his wife, Kendra Duggar, after returning home. He didn’t, however, reunite with their four children.
The Duggars aren’t allowed to see their kids right now. Moreover, they both face child endangerment charges stemming from a police visit to their home. Those charges are unrelated to his charges in Florida.
Unexpected Family Member Supported Him In Jail
Several of Joseph Duggar’s sisters spoke out after his arrest. They shared their support for the alleged victim while denouncing their brother’s alleged behavior. Joseph Duggar only received visits from his lawyer while in jail in Arkansas. However, he wasn’t abandoned by his family.

Jail communications between inmates and the outside world are public record. Joseph and Kendra Duggar spoke often on the phone. However, newly released email records reveal that Joseph Duggar received a supportive message from an unexpected family member.
His brother-in-law, Austin Forsyth, sent him an email to show support. “I want you to know that I love you! Jesus loves you, and continues to draw you closer to Him,” Austin Forsyth wrote in an email. Furthermore, he added that he was “praising God” that he and his wife, Joy-Anna Duggar, got closer to Joseph and Kendra in the last few years. God “knew that Kendra was going to need help,” he wrote.
Austin Forsyth didn’t want to discuss the charges against Joseph Duggar. Finally, he advised his brother-in-law to only speak to his lawyer about that.

The email is surprising because Joy-Anna Duggar called the allegations against her brother “deeply disturbing” and said her heart was with the victims. According to PEOPLE magazine, Joseph Duggar wrote back to Austin Forsyth that he was grateful for the support.
