The Bates family just got a little bigger!

Tori Bates, the seventh child of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates, welcomed her sixth baby, son Gage Turner Smith, with her husband Bobby Smith. The newborn entered the world on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 10:02 p.m., weighing 6 lbs., 4 oz., according to Kelly Jo’s Instagram post announcing the happy news. The carousel included the first photos of the newborn, showing the baby boy’s first days earthside.

“Congratulations, Tori & Bobby! 🥰 Our handsome little grandson, Gage Turner Smith was born 2-28-26 at 10:02pm, weighing 6lbs 4oz.,” the proud grandmother wrote in her caption. “You can tell from these pics that he’s getting plenty of love & admiration! We’re so thankful for this little bundle!”

“He’s our 19th grandson & our 39th grandchild, & he was absolutely worth the wait!” she continued. “And yes, I’m feeling like the most incredibly blessed granny ever! ❤️.”

Many of the Bates family members went to the comments to express their excitement for the new addition to the family.

“CONGRATS @bobby_torilayne_smith 🙌❤️ Can’t wait to meet him!” wrote Lawson Bates, who recently welcomed his second son, Theodore, with his wife Tiffany.

Echoing his brother’s sentiments, Zach Bates commented, “He is sooo adorable 🥹✨ and you look gorgeous Tori 😍.”

Last October, the couple announced the happy news that they were welcoming baby no. 6 on Instagram, sharing several photos of their family enjoying some quality time outdoors.

“✨Number SIX!✨ Well, it’s been a while since I’ve shown up here (apparently I only log in for life’s biggest moments 🙃)… but this one is too sweet not to share: Baby #6 is joining our crew in March 2026! 🍼💛,” the caption read. “Life has been too full of little feet and sticky kisses to post much, and while our days may be loud and our hands always full, our hearts have never been richer in love.”

“Watching Kade, Kolter, Charlotte, Cami, and Slade prepare to welcome their baby sibling is the sweetest reminder that love only grows deeper with each new little life. 💕,” the post continued. “We are so grateful to be living this life, experiencing more of God’s richest blessings with each passing year. ✨”

The couple, who tied the knot in December 2017, is also parents to kids Kade, Kolter, Charlotte, Cami, and Slade. They wed in Tennessee, confirming the news exclusively with PEOPLE at the time.

“Today was more than we could ever hope for. It was the wedding of our dreams,” the couple told PEOPLE. “We’re so grateful to God for His love and the love and support we received from our family and friends that helped us celebrate this magical day. We couldn’t be happier about sharing the rest of our lives together.”
