She shared her travel plans: attending a Texas conference and then heading on a 10-day hunting trip in Colorado with Austin, right around her October birthday. Joy also opened up about her spiritual journey. Though raised in a Christian household, she said she wasn’t truly “saved” until later. After giving birth, she hit one of her lowest spiritual points, even questioning her faith. Reading Scripture, especially the Psalms, reminded her that like the Israelites who forgot God’s miracles, she too often failed to trust, yet God’s grace remained constant.
Joy stressed honesty with God: praying, studying Scripture, listening to worship music, and finding a strong local church. She emphasized that faith isn’t about perfection but about leaning on God even in struggles.
She also spoke about Arkansas life, praising its four seasons, beauty, and family-friendly atmosphere — a place she feels she’ll never leave. Regarding friendships, she admitted that motherhood makes social life harder but believes honesty and effort are key to maintaining connections.
On family planning, Joy revealed that she and Austin always pray before deciding to have more children, never rushing or pressuring each other. She described her pregnancies with joy. She also admitted past social anxiety but said she’s slowly learning to overcome it with prayer and mindset shifts.
Finally, Joy shared the core of her faith: all humans are sinners and cannot save themselves. Only by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, can one receive salvation. This, she said, is the message she most wants to pass on.
