Christine Brown attributes her happiness to her kids.

During her nearly 28-year marriage to Kody Brown, the Sister Wives star welcomed six children: Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwendlyn, Ysabel and Truely. Christine became Kody’s third wife, via a “spiritual marriage,” in 1994 and after nearly three decades together, they split in November 2021.

Christine admitted on a December 2022 episode of the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast that she partly decided to divorce Kody because of his relationship with their children.

“It was like a vicious cycle all the time. Because for years, I’d say you know, your dad loves you. He loves you, he wanted to spend time with you,” she explained. “I would tell my kids that all the time — that he’s going to come over, we’re going to have a great time, blah, blah, blah. And after a while, they just stopped believing me.”

Since their 2021 split, the former couple have continued to appear on Sister Wives and Christine and Kody’s children have voiced their opinions on their parents’ marriage.

From Christine’s experience becoming a grandmother to the major life events her children have gone through on Sister Wives, here’s everything to know about Christine’s six children: Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwendlyn, Ysabel and Truely.

Aspyn Thompson, 30

Christine and Kody welcomed their first child, Aspyn, a year after their March 1994 spiritual wedding on March 14, 1995.

Their firstborn graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2019 with a degree in marriage and family therapy/counseling. Per her LinkedIn, Aspyn works as a store manager for Kendra Scott in Salt Lake City. She has also volunteered for Autism Speaks and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Aspyn got engaged to Mitch Thompson in December 2017 and the couple wed during an intimate ceremony in June of the following year. At the time of their engagement, Aspyn told PEOPLE about how she met her fiancé.

“We were raised in the same church group, and I had a little crush on him,” she said. “We went different directions until a rally some of my family attended in Utah, where we both happened to be.”

Christine commemorated her daughter’s third wedding anniversary with a June 2021 Instagram post that included a photo of Aspyn, Mitch, Gwendlyn, Truely and Ysabel at breakfast.

“HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO Aspyn and @mitchellton13! We had so much fun with you!!” she wrote in the caption of the post.

Mykelti Padron, 29

Christine and Kody welcomed their second daughter, Mykelti, on June 9, 1996.

She attended the College of Southern Nevada, per her LinkedIn, and has worked at LuLaRoe and Podium in clothing sales.

Mykelti married Antonio Padron in 2016, and their wedding was later shown during season 7 of Sister Wives. In April 2021, Christine became a grandmother when Mykelti gave birth to her and Antonio’s first daughter, Avalon Asa. A little over a year later, the couple welcomed two new additions to their family with the November 2022 arrival of their twin sons, Archer Banks and Ace McCord.

In May of that year, Christine joked on Instagram that she “begged” Mykelti “to let me babysit Avalon” while sharing a series of photos of her and her granddaughter playing together. “She’s absolutely delightful! #oma #babysitting #blessed,” Christine added in the caption.

After living in Utah for quite some time, Mykelti announced on Instagram in July 2024 that her family had moved to North Carolina. In the comments on the post, the reality star confirmed they made to transition to be close to her younger sister, Ysabel, who relocated to the East Coast in 2021.

Paedon Brown, 27

Christine and Kody’s only son, Paedon, arrived on Aug. 7, 1998.

In January 2019, the reality star announced on Instagram that her son had joined the National Guard.

While he leads a more private life, Paedon shares brief glimpses into his time with family on social media. In May 2022, he shared two photos with Mykelti’s daughter Avalon on Instagram, writing, “Having so much fun with my niece!”

Paedon has also posted TikTok videos and Instagram photos with his mom.

Gwendlyn Queiroz, 23

Christine and Kody welcomed their fourth child, daughter Gwendlyn, on Oct. 15, 2001.

She got engaged to her wife, Beatriz Queiroz, in December 2022, and they wed six months later in July 2023. On Sister Wives, Christine revealed that after Kody and his ex-wife Meri’s child Leon told the Brown family they were gay — before they came out as transgender in June 2022 — she knew Gwendolyn also identified as LGBTQ+.

“When [Leon] told us [they were] gay. Immediately I thought oh so is Gwendlyn. I knew immediately,” Christine said. “We’ve had just great conversations about it.”

In a confessional interview, Gwendlyn shared that she identifies as bisexual, explaining, “I’m not only attracted to women. I’m also attracted to men and people who fall into other gender spectrums.”

Gwendlyn has also opened up about her “flip-floppy” relationship with her dad, Kody. In a December 2022 YouTube video, she admitted they’d “had our differences in the past, but we’re getting better.”

One month later, she shared her idea for a Sister Wives spinoff series that would center on Christine and Kody’s ex-wife Janelle as opposed to the entire Brown family. “Tell me you don’t love that idea. Sister Wives. It should be called Sister WIVES — I’m a genius,” she quipped in a January 2023 video.

Ysabel Brown, 22

Christine and Kody welcomed their fifth child and fourth daughter, Ysabel, on March 7, 2003.

During season 17 of Sister Wives, Ysabel moved across the country to live with her half-sister, Janelle’s daughter Madison, in North Carolina where she attended East Carolina University.

Ysabel’s move was featured on the TLC show, along with her September 2020 surgery to correct her scoliosis. The operation became a point of contention in Christine and Kody’s marriage when he opted not to travel for the major surgery despite them wanting him present.

Ysabel revealed on the show that she didn’t want to “disrespect” her father’s precautions about COVID-19 but that it was a “really frustrating” situation for her.

“I think I’m a little upset that he can’t go because he’s always talking about how family comes first,” she said. “But when it comes down to it, I need him there, and he’s not putting his daughter above the fear that he has of the pandemic.”

Now, Ysabel frequently shares travel memories on Instagram, including pictures with her mom and siblings.

Truely Brown, 15

Christine and Kody welcomed their sixth and final child, Truely, on April 13, 2010.

Christine delivered her on the first season of Sister Wives, and the majority of Truely’s early years played out on the reality series. At 3 years old, she was taken to the hospital due to acute kidney failure and dehydration, with her recovery also being documented on Sister Wives.

In 2022, Truely celebrated her first day of middle school and Christine marked the milestone on Instagram.

“It’s Truely’s first day of middle school. She’s so excited to make friends! And just ready for adventures! And honestly, she’s going to rock it like she does everything,” the mom of six wrote. “Me, I’m a sobbing mess trying to keep it together. She’s my last child going to her first day of middle school.”

Two years later, Christine and Truely went to Disneyland together.
