Bear Brown Claimed That He Accidentally Cut Off The Tip Of His Finger
Fans first got to know Bear Brown through the reality series, Alaskan Bush People. Viewers saw the family survive amid the wilderness on the Discovery Channel show, which originally ran from 2014 to 2022.
Recently, Bear shared a video with fans revealing he recently injured himself. As he shared the story, Bear also let fans know how he was currently treating the situation.

The Alaskan Bush People star shared how he was treating the wound before receiving proper medical treatment. As he noted, âThatâs [why] weâre going to head to the hospital now. I got it on some ice and stuff. I hear that they can reattach, so I got it all bandaged up right now and weâre headed right now to the hospital. So, I figured that Iâd make a quick video to let yâall guys know.
Bear explained that this type of accident is unusual for him, noting his years of experience with cutting wood. He shared, âI have never missed before, chopping wood. I have chopped wood so close to my hands. Iâve chopped millions of pieces of kindling. And I was just chopping wood and stuff.â
Alaskan Bush People Fans Were Somewhat Confused On What To Make Of The Story
âAnd I donât know how it happened. I was chopping like I normally do. I had my hand down a little bit and it just missed. [It hit] my ringer finger on my right hand really bad.â
Bear then concluded the video, sharing, âBut I gotta go right now. I just wanted to let yâall guys know. Thank you very much for all your support. God bless.â
In the video, Bear briefly lifted up his hand so that fans could see the bandage. Taking to the comments, many fans shared their concern over what had happened. Due to the timing, however, many werenât sure if this had been an April Foolâs Day joke or not, though some thought it would be too late for that. On the other hand, others found it suspicious that he was filming a video before heading to the hospital. Some comments included:
- âLove you, and hurry up and get to the hospital.â
- âI donât believe it one bit! Browns are too experienced for thisâ
- âOh no! So glad it was not the middle of your hand or fingers. Prayers for a successful procedure and speedy recovery, brother.â
- âIf true, keep your hand above your heart so it wonât thrive so bad. I, too, cut off the tip of my right ring finger with a mandolin slicer. Nothing to sew back on and taking 2 mos. to healâ
- âThis feels like a late April fools joke.â
- âBear I really feel bad for you , but please stop talking and get your butt going to the E . R . I really hope they can get it back to normal so you donât lose it permanently. Bless you Bear. Stay safe on your way to the Hospital buddy.â
In a later update, however, Bear later shared that the video was indeed a joke. As he wrote, âSorry everyone!â Taking to the captions, many fans shared mixed reactions. Some felt it was inappropriate to make jokes about injuries, while others claimed they already saw through the joke.
