90 Day: The Single Life star Pedro Jimeno may want to keep his mom away from his potential love interests.

In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek of the Monday, March 23, episode of TLC’s hit reality show, Pedro invites his “friend” Sophie Sierra to attend a family outing. Instead of a casual gathering, however, things get awkward when Pedro’s mom, Lidia, makes some shocking comments.

“I was able to see Sophie, and I saw a normal woman, a common woman,” Lidia shares in a confessional interview. “I didn’t see anything grand. Pedro has a type, women who are voluptuous, who have it here [near the butt]. I don’t know. She doesn’t have anything.”

While Pedro says he and Sophie are “just talking” and “friends,” Lidia has her own theory as to why her son hasn’t moved things along with a new lady.

“She has to try a Dominican man,” Lidia explains. “She has to try the eggs. The eggs and salami.”

Pedro replies, “Come on! What the hell? That’s weird.”

While Sophie — and some viewers — may not understand, Pedro knows exactly what his mom was trying to say.

“She said, ‘We don’t have anything intimate yet.’ You know what I mean?” he explained. “And then she said. … It’s stupid. Maybe, you know, you’re not that interested because you [don’t] have a taste of me yet.”

In other words, it’s time to enjoy some sexy time.

“That’s embarrassing, bro. In front of everybody,” Pedro says in a confessional interview. “She said, ‘The reason why Sophie is not committed to you is because you [don’t] have him give you some plantains!’ Jesus Christ.”

Sophie added, “You know, it’s just awkward. ‘Why you don’t f*** my son?’ I’m like, ‘What?’ That’s what she said.”

90 Day: The Single Life follows singles on their journeys to romance, some of which lead to unexpected sparks between familiar 90 Day faces.

Pedro, who is an Atlanta real estate agent, has kept fans guessing about his relationship status. Instead, he has posted cryptic messages, like a recent Instagram from the gym.

“Currently unavailable,” he wrote in September 2025. “Please leave a message after the grind 😉.”

Fans first met Pedro in season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé when he fell in love with Chantel Everett. Although they exchanged vows and scored their own spinoff series, The Family Chantel, Us confirmed in July 2022 that the twosome filed for divorce.
