Rain Brown Breaks Her Silence with Emotional Update on Her Mom Ami Brown’s Health Crisis
“Hey everybody, it’s Rain Brown here. I just wanted to hop on and give you all a quick but important update about my mom, Ami Brown. I know I’ve been a little MIA lately — and I’m sorry for going quiet — but it’s been a really intense couple of weeks, and I needed a moment to breathe.”

About a week ago, our family faced a scary situation. My mom suddenly got really sick. At first, she tried to sleep it off, thinking it was something small, but things only got worse. As many of you know, my mom has emphysema and COPD, so whenever she starts showing symptoms, we all go into high alert.
Eventually, my siblings took her to the hospital (I’m currently without a car, so I’ve been doing what I can from home), and the doctors diagnosed her with severe acute pneumonia caused by a virus — not bacterial, thankfully. That diagnosis came after they did a CT scan to rule out other concerns, including the terrifying possibility of her cancer returning. Thankfully, those results came back clear.

Her oxygen levels were dangerously low, and she had a few other complications. Her heart rate was so low they couldn’t even give her pain meds at first because of fear it could stop altogether. It was a really frightening time — I won’t lie, I was panicking — and I feel bad for not keeping you guys updated in the moment. But now you know why I was quiet.
She was put on oxygen and given IV antibiotics for about a week. Her condition slowly started improving. Her oxygen levels still aren’t strong enough for her to go without support, so she’s now home with an oxygen tank and resting comfortably. She’s staying with my brother Noah, who’s taking amazing care of her.
She’s eating again — even finishing meals — and coughing up the infection, which is actually a good thing. That means her body is clearing it out. Her internal systems are functioning well, and she’s regaining strength every day.
I know this is a weird video to be smiling and laughing in, but the truth is — I’m just so relieved. I’m not happy she got sick, of course not. But now that she’s safe and recovering, I feel like I can finally breathe again. That’s why I’m smiling. That’s why I can finally talk about it.
To all of you who saw my Facebook post asking for prayers, thank you. I couldn’t say much at the time because we were still in the dark, and I didn’t want to scare anyone before we had answers. But your thoughts and prayers meant so much.
