Lydia Plath Is Getting Married In Welcome To Plathville Season 7
Lydia & Zac Moved Quickly
Lydia Plath, who hasn’t had as big a role on Welcome to Plathville as her siblings until season 7, has talked about two other relationships she’s been in before that didn’t work out. But in season 7, Lydia talked about, and introduced viewers to Zac. Lydia met Zac while she was traveling in Colorado and attended a youth meeting at a church she stopped in at.
Lydia and Zac quickly hit it off, and Zac asked her to be his girlfriend within their first few days of meeting.
Both are devoutly religious and are saving their first kiss with each other until marriage.
In WTP episode 1, Lydia and Zac had only been dating a little more than three months, but they both felt confident that God had given them signs that they were meant to be together. That said, Zac asked Plath patriarch Barry for his blessing to propose, and Barry happily said yes.
Zac surprised Barry further when he relayed that he would be proposing right away and that their wedding would be in a few months. The same day, Zac got the blessing, Ethan showed up, and they broke the news to him as well. Ethan, a skeptical person, saw that Zac made Lydia happy, but he did make an observation I found to be wild.
Ethan Made An Accusation About Zac
“He’s Gay”
While Ethan was listening to the giddiness of Lydia and Zac as they retold the story of how they met and knew they’d found their forever person, Ethan’s face was reserved. The happy couple even remarked individually that Ethan was rather quiet during their recounting and news.
Behind the scenes, Ethan gave an interview that relayed exactly how he felt.
“What the f***. You meet a guy for three months, and then you tell me you’re going to get married. It doesn’t make sense. I get that he makes her happy. That’s obvious. But it is pretty quick.”
Then he went on to make the accusation.
“I guess the one thing that I have hesitation of is I think he’s gay.”
How Damaging Is Ethan’s Revelation?

Ethan did not make his assertion to anyone but the producers and Welcome to Plathville audience. However, with so much season left, there’s a lot of room for Ethan to make his opinion known to others in the family, which could get awkward. For now, Ethan’s accusation isn’t too damaging, but I find it a problematic viewpoint given the circumstance
